Two alleged drug-peddlers were arrested and six kg of charas seized from their possession in Bandipora district of north Kashmir, police said today.
Afroz Ahmad Wani and Mohammad Amin Hajam, both residents of Sumbal, were arrested after police intercepted their vehicle during checking near Tangpora village, 35 km from here on Srinagar-Bandipora road, a police spokesman said.
A search of the vehicle led to the seizure of six kg of charas, he added.
The accused were booked under provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, the spokesman said.
