Altogether 229 cartons of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) were seized from town police station area of Sitamarhi district today.
Acting on a tip off, a Special Task Force (STF) team checked a truck and a pick up van in Rajopatti locality and seized 229 cartons of IMFL kept in specially designed boxes in the two vehicles, a statement from state police headquarter said.
Two persons, Karan of Rae Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh and Raj Rai of Sitamarhi district were arrested in connection with the seizer of liquor bottles bearing lebels 'For sale in Haryana only'.
Search is on for the receiver of the illegal consignment Ramesh Kumar, the statement said.
