Three persons were asphyxiated by fumes after a fire broke out in a shoe manufacturing unit in Howrah district, police said today.
The three were staying in the second floor of the three-storey building housing the shoe factory that caught fire late last night at Ankurhati in Domjur police station.
Five fire tenders brought the blaze under control.
The cause of the fire and extent of damage are not yet known.
