3 poachers held

Three poachers were

arrested by security forces in Assam's East Karbi Anglong district today.

Acting on a tip-off about movement of suspected militants in Rongmongwe area, army personnel deployed in the district launched an area domination since yesterday evening, a defence spokesperson said here.

The security personnel spotted three persons moving in a suspicious manner between the villages of Sarpo Kathar and Kat Teron and netted the trio around noon.

The security forces recovered a .303 rifle, a silencer, ten rounds of live ammunitions, an axe and a torch from the nabbed persons.

The apprehended persons have been identified as Dhansing Ronghang, Bidasing Singnar and SanjayTerang.
 

The security personnel claimed that the trio were allegedly planning poaching of a rhino tonight.
