3 women Home Guard personnel sacked for making false charges

Three women Home Guard personnel have been dismissed for making false sexual harassment complaints, police said today.

Erode Superintendent of Police R Sivakumar said the three women had in December 2016 submitted a written complaint stating that their male counterparts had made some lewd remarks and sought action.

Following this, an inquiry was conducted by the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Gobichettipalayam R Selvam.

In his report, Selvam said the complaints made by the three women personnel were false.

After examining it, the Erode SP on Tuesday ordered the dismissal of the three women Home Guard personnel.

Individual dismissal orders were also issued, the SP said in a release.
