Three workers, two of them from West Bengal, were killed when they inhaled poisonous fumes while draining out water from a well at Kurichi in nearby Changanassery today, police said.
The mishap occurred when Siju from Kerala and Jehangir and Mukthar from Malda in West Bengal were trying to pump out the water in the well with the help of a motor.
The three collapsed after fumes emanated from the well when they started the motor, police said.
The fire brigade later removed their bodies.
