60 persons booked for attacking police party

Atleast 60 persons were booked for allegedly attacking a police party which had gone to arrest three persons on charges of cow slaughter in Charthawal area here.

Yesterday, on receiving a tip-off, police had gone to Kulheri village to arrest the accused but their attempt was met with resistance by the locals, City SP Sarvan Kumar told reporters today.

The SP said a case has been registered against 60 people and 19 people have been named on charges of attempt to murder and intercepting official work.
