The All Assam Students Union today observed a 'satyagraha' across the state in support of their demand of cent per cent reservation of seats for indigenous people in the Parliament, Assembly and local bodies.
AASU took out rallies in the district headquarters with banners and placards demanding constitutional safeguard to the state's indigenous people.
The right of the indigenous people over the land and natural resources of the state was the other demand of the students' union that had sponsored the six-year-long Assam Movement against illegal Bangladeshi migrants.
