The estranged friend of a class eight student who was murdered in the classroom at a government school at a village near Aruppukottai, was arrested today from a house on the city outskirts, police said.
Mareeswaran was nabbed from his sister's house in Periyanaicken Palayam, about 25 Kms from here by police who acted on a tip off that he was there.
However, police declined to divulge more details about the incident.
The eighth standard student, G Baskar was stabbed to death by Mareeswaran in the classroom of the school at Pandalkudi yesterday.
