AIYF demands relook into fees hike for PG medical courses

Joining issue with the CPI(M) led on the fee hike for clinical and non-clinical Post Graduate medical courses, AIYF,youth wing of CPI, a key partner, today demanded its roll back.

In a statement here, All Youth Federation President R Sajilal and Secretary Mahesh demanded that the not 'bow to the pressure' of Self-Financing Private medical college managements.

They pointed out that fees for clinical PG courses had been hiked from Rs 6.5 lakh to Rs 14 lakh and for non-clinical courses, from Rs 2.5 lakh to Rs 8.5 lakh.

"The increase is double fold and is in deviation to the declared policy of LDF', the statement said.

AIYF also alleged that the agreement was signed in favour of managements and it amounted to exploitation of students.
