All should rise above party politics to fight terror: BJP

BJP today condemned the Maoist attack on Congress leaders and workers in Chhattisgarh and said all should rise above party politics to fight terror with a heavy hand.

NDA Working Chairperson L K Advani called up Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to express his concern over the attack.

"Advani severely condemned the dastardly attack. He impressed upon the Prime Minister that concerted effort should be made to tackle Maoism and Naxalism with a heavy hand," a statement from his office said.

Advani pointed out that Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh is also undertaking a Yatra and every effort should be made to provide security to all.
 

The Maoists had attacked the Parivartan Yatra of the Congress party today which led to the death of its leaders.

BJP President Rajnath Singh, who was in Gorakhpur, also condemned the attack.

"The fight against Naxalism and terrorism should be undertaken by all rising above partisan politics," he said.
