Army sends 23 students of Rajouri on educational tour

A group of 23 students from far-flung areas of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir today left for other parts of the country on a nine-day educational-cum- motivational tour as part of Army's "Operation Sadbhavana".

The tour, organised by Rashtriya Rifles Battalion under the aegis of Counter Insurgency Force (Romeo), was flagged off by Maulvi Farooq from Jammu, defence spokesman S N Acharya said here.

The aim of the tour is to showcase the development in other parts of the country and to provide them an opportunity to visit important places of interest and interact with eminent personalities, he said.
 

During the tour, the students would visit Indian Military Academy in Dehradun, Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy, Forest Research Institute, Lake Mist, Bhatta Falls, Deogarh Fort and Sahastradhara, he said, adding they would also interact with the Uttarakhand Governor, Commandant of Indian Military Academy and the Commandant of Gorkha Regimental Recruiting Centre.

The students would also take part in rock-climbing planned in collaboration with Himalayan Adventure Institute, Mussorie, the spokesman said.
