ATS arrests cleric for instigating attack on cops

The Anti-terrorism Squad of Maharashtra police has arrested a Musim cleric from Pusad in the district,for allegedly instigating a youth to attack the policemen.

Maulana Hafeez Mujbir Rehman alias Sheikh Salim Mallik (26) was arrested last night, police said today.

Abdul Mallik, a resident of Pusad, had earlier been arrested for attacking three jawans of the State Reserve Police (SRP) on Bakr-eid day for allegedly being supporters of beef ban.

Yogesh Dongarwar, Amol Badukle and Sudarshan Aaghav, the three SRP jawans, sustained serious injuries in the attack.
