Lt Governor Kiran Bedi today administered a pledge to government officers at Raj Nivas on the first working day of the New Year.
A release from office of Lt Governor said the pledge stated that in the dawn of the new Year 2017, the public servants of Puducherry committed themselves "to uphold the supremacy of the Constitution of India and to maintain ethical standards."
The officers also pledged that they would take decisions "solely in public interest and cause to use public resources efficiently, effectively and economically," the release said.
"It will be our endeavour to perform and discharge our duties with the highest degree of professionalism and render service to the best of our abilities maintaining absolute integrity, transparency and fair play," the officers stated through the pledge.
