Actor Amitabh Bachchan could not attend the concluding function of the World Hindi Sammelan organised by the Madhya Pradesh Government here due to health problem today.
In his message that was read out at the session, Bachchan expressed his inability to attend the function saying he had undergone a surgery for toothache.
Bachchan also expressed regret for failing to take phone calls of state chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Rajya Sabha MP Anil Dave.

In his address, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh underlined popularity of Hindi in other countries and recalled a cartoon which he had seen showing Big B.
The cartoon, showing Bachchan with Hindi films, portrayed that the actor could win even a Presidential poll in Egypt, the minister said in a lighter vein.
