The Delhi unit of BJP today called upon Police Comissioner to take strict action in cases related to violence against the citizens of Northeast states living in the national Capital.
A delegation of BJP leaders led by state chief Satish Upadhyay today met Police Commissioner B S Bassi and discussed about the increasing violence against the people of North East states living in Delhi besides the security of women and various aspects of law and order.
MP Ramesh Bidhuri, BJP leaders Jai Prakash and Shikha Rai were part of the delegation.

BJP leaders also demanded that special Helpline Number 1064 should be started for lodging complaint against corruption, so that hawkers and common citizens may be able to lodge complaint with the help of this number.
"We also wanted the Police Commissioner to set up Women Police Stations in each district and improvement in complaint redressing system at reception level at police stations," Upadhyay told reporters here.
The Delhi BJP leader also demanded that on the lines of Special Police Officers, teams of student volunteers should be formed which can work as 'eyes and ears' of Delhi Police.
The delegation informed Bassi about large scale interference in construction work and alleged harassment of hawkers by the local police. They demanded that the interference of the police in both the cases should be stopped.
