BSP's state president Ram Achal Rajbhar and general secretary Naseemuddin Siddiqui yesterday announced Ram Lakhan Passi as the party nominee for the constituency.
A consensus was reached on Passi's name after a meeting of party workers here yesterday, BSP sources said.
The two leaders announced in the meeting that with declaration of the candidature, the party will start the election campaign for the seat and party workers will work towards ensuring victory of Passi, they said.
Although elections are more than a year away, BSP has already finalised more than half the names of the candidates for the coming polls, including that for the Lucknow parliamentary segment.
