Cattle-laden truck seized in UP

A truck carrying 26 cows was seized in Soharai village here, police said today.

The truck was intercepted near the railway crossing here last night and 26 cows were recovered from the vehicle, they said, adding one of them was found dead.

The driver and others in the truck managed to escape taking advantage of the darkness.

A case has been registered against unidentified persons and the animals have been sent to a cow shelter here, they said.
