The CB CID of Tamil Nadu Police has filed a chargesheet against 23 persons in a case realted to alleged pilferage of state-run Aavin milk.
The accused have been charged with offences of criminal conspiracy, theft and adulteration of food by transporter, criminal breach of trust by the carrier and receiving stolen property, a CB CID statement said.
On completion of investigation, the CB CID filed its chargesheet in a local court in Villupuram on November 18, the release added.

The racket came to light after Vellimedupettai police in Villupuram district arrested four persons for carrying pilfered milk. The case was later transferred to CB CID.
Investigation revealed that the milk pilfered by the four persons were from lorries carrying milk to Madhavaram and Ambattur, main milk centres of Aavin.
A detailed probe established that a systematic and routine pilferage of Aavin milk was taking place from lorries belonging to two companies owned by Ashok Nagar-based Vaithyanathan and his wife Revathi.
"Investigation reveals large scale pilferage and adulteration of Aavin milk during transportation. The quantity of milk pilfered was substituted with water, etc," it said.
Vaithyanathan and Revathi owned two transport companies in the name of Deepika Transport and South India Road Milk Transport, which are running 84 lorries for transportation of Aavin milk from various chilling centres to Aavin dairies.
During the investigation, CB CID arrested 23 persons responsible for pilferage and adulteration of milk, receivers of pilfered milk and lorry drivers involved.
