Red chilli and jeera prices rose up to Rs 300 per quintal in the national capital today amid increased buying by stockists and retailers.
Besides, low stocks in the market following fall in supplies from producing belts and firming trend in futures market influenced prices.
Red chilli prices rose by Rs 100 to conclude at Rs 6,500-12,500 per quintal.
Jeera -- common and best quality -- also traded higher by Rs 300 each to finish at Rs 15,000-15,500 and Rs 18,200-18,700 per quintal, respectively.
Traders said buying support from retailers and stockists against fall in supplies from producing belts mainly pushed up chilli and jeera prices.

Ajwain (per kg) 135-185, black pepper (per kg) 560-730, betel-nut (kg) 300-350, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,675-1,690 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,800-1,925.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 800-860, cardamom (colour robin) 770-800, cardamom bold 780-800, cardamom extra (bold) 950-1,000 and cloves 700-835.
