Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today again visited the camps and ashrams damaged by heavy rains and squall two days ago at the Simhastha Kumbh Mela site here and took stock of preparations for the 'shahi snan'.

Chouhan, who toured the affected site in the wee hours yesterday, was accompanied by his wife Sadhana. Both voluntarily took part in rebuilding the camps for devotees flattened by the nature's fury this Thursday.

The chief minister oversaw the preparations for 'shahi snan' (royal bath) on May 9 when the mega religious gathering on the banks of the Kshipra River is likely to see a heavy rush of devotees.

Seven people were killed and around 90 others injured when heavy rains accompanied by lightning and squall flattened and uprooted makeshifts tents of pilgrims in and around the Kumbh Mela site on the evening of May 5.
