Cold wave grips Nashik, temp drops to 5.4 degree Celsius

Intense cold wave has gripped the entire district with mercury dropping below six degree Celsius here.
The night temperature yesterday in Nipad here was recorded at 5.4 degree Celsius while it stood at 5.8 degree Celsius in Nashik city.
People were forced to stay indoors while many lit campfires to stay warm.

According to weathermen, cold conditions are likely to continue for the next two days following snowfall and intense cold weather in north India.
In order to prevent damage to grapes, farmers are covering the fruit bunches with plastic or cotton sheets and also lighting campfires near the fields to provide heat.
