Congress today demanded that a criminal case be filed against Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan over alleged violation of rules in the appointment of Information Officer of Madhya Pradesh Bhavan in New Delhi in 2011.
"Dr Sudhanshu Trivedi's appointment was made in violation of all the rules and regulations when Laxmikant Sharma was the Minister of Technical Education. Therefore, a criminal case be filed against the Chief Minister in this connection," state Congress president Arun Yadav said in a press conference here today.
"Trivedi was the political adviser of BJP president Rajnath Singh and that was the only qualification he had," Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Satyadev Katare, who was also present at the press conference, said.
They also raised questions over Trivedi's date of joining. "It is strange that although Trivedi was appointed on September 9, 2011, he had taken up the post on June 11 (2011)," Katare said.
