Cong wins Sillod Municipal Council polls

Congress won the Sillod Municipal Council elections with a thumping majority here today.

Congress won 22 of the total 26 seats, Returning Officer and SDO Chunnilal Kokanai told reporters.

While the main opposition BJP won two seats, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) and Shiv Sena could only get one seat each.

The elections were held here on Sunday in which 77.40 per cent voters' turnout was registered.

Sillod is one of the major cities in the Aurangabad district.
