Copper futures traded a shade lower at Rs 464.75 per kg today as participants reduced their exposure, tracking a weak trend at the spot market on sluggish demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in June shed 25 paise, or 0.05 per cent to Rs 464.75 per kg in business turnover of 603 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in far-month August contracts fell by 10 paise, or 0.02 per cent to Rs 468.85 per kg in 3 lots.
Analysts attributed the fall in copper futures to offloading of positions by traders owing to slackened demand from consuming industries in the physical market.
