Couple injured as LPG cylinder explodes

A man and his wife suffered serious burns when an LPG cylinder in their house exploded at nearby Andipatti today.

The incident occurred when Gomathy, wife of ex-serviceman Kaliraj, ignited the stove to boil milk in the morning, police said.

Kaliraj, who rushed to the kitchen, and his wife suffered serious injuries and rushed to the Government Hospital, behind their house, from where they were shifted to the Madurai Rajaji Government Hospital.
