A local court today ordered compensation to to the families of 13 children who were killed when an overloaded mini bus of a private public school was hit by a truck on Ambala-Shahabad road close to Ambala Cantt on January 2, 2012.
Additional sessions judge Sanjeev Arya granted a compensation of Rs 30,000 each to the families of all the 13 children.
As many as 13 students of a private school and the driver were killed when the school bus in which they were travelling collided with a truck.

The minibus was carrying around 30 children against its capacity of 12 kids.
While pronouncing the quantum of sentence today, the judge sentenced four years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 2 lakh each to the manager and principal of the school.
He also sentenced four and half years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 17,500 to the driver of the truck who had hit the school bus.
According to prosecution, on the complaint of the brother of the driver of school bus, the police had registered a case against the principal, manager of the school and the driver of the truck under various IPC sections for their carelessness.
Around three dozen witnesses were produced by the prosecution during the trial of the case.
