AP: tax officer lands in ACB net in Krishna district

A Commercial Tax Officer at Gudivada in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh was today caught red-handed by the anti-corruption bureau for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 25,000.

V V S L Prasad Babu, the officer, was caught while taking the bribe in his room at the Commercial Tax Office in Gudivada.

He had demanded the money for cancellation of a VAT registration certificate, an ACB release said here.
