Delhi jeweller held for making, supplying fake gold biscuits

A Delhi-based jeweller was arrested on the charges of manufacturing and supplying fake gold biscuits, police said here today.

Acting on a specific information, Sudhir Agarwal, a jeweller in Chandni Chowk, was arrested from Delhi yesterday for allegedly manufacturing and supplying fake gold biscuits, they said.

Sudhir was produced in a local court today which remanded him to two days' police custody, they said.

Kingpin of the gang Anand Dhankar, a resident of Rewari, was arrested a few days back for allegedly supplying fake gold biscuits, police said.

During interrogation, Dhankar had confessed that he used to purchase fake gold biscuits from Sudhir for about Rs 8,500 per piece and supply it to some city jewellers here for around Rs 20,000, they said.
 

Following this information, Sudhir was arrested from Delhi, they said, adding he was being interrogated.
