Several trains, including Darjeeling Mail, were today delayed for over two to three hours after a coach of the Rampurhat-Sealdah Ma Tara Express derailed on the way to the car shed at Sealdah station, Eastern Railway officials said.
No injury was reported but many passengers got stranded at the station because of the incident, they added.
After the passengers of Ma Tara Express had disembarked at Sealdah, the train was being moved to the car shed when one of its coaches derailed, blocking the 9A and 9B platforms that handle many of the long-distance services.
