The district administration today gave an ultimatum to a group of protesters occupying a park here to vacate the area by tomorrow evening.
"It is the last notice to them for vacating government land of Jawahar Bagh. The time limit given to them is another 24 hours", City Magistrate Vijai Kumar said, adding, Section 144 has also been promulgated.
With new deadline set for protesters, they now are supposed to vacate the land by 5.00 pm Sunday.
The group, illegally, has been occupying hundreds of acres of land of the park since 2014, claiming they are on an indefinite protest, till their demands are met, which also includes farmer-friendly policies.
With drone cameras and CCTVs, we are watching the activities of the group. Since some of them are keeping licensed arms, the district magistrate was requested to cancel their license", SSP Rakesh Singh said.
