Doctors in Mizoram today held pen-down strike between 9 am and 11 am as part of Indian Medical Association's demand of a legislation to protect working doctors from violence and abuse by relatives of the patients.
The doctors did not attend the patients in the consultation rooms except during the emergency situation.
The Indian Medical Association has called for a pen-down strike wherein medical professionals will not write prescriptions between 10 am and 11 am.
The IMA would also launch a signature campaign over the issue on social media and has urged all doctors to collect thousands of signatures which would be sent to the Centre seeking action.
