Eight killed, five injured in West Bengal road mishap

Eight passengers were killed and five others injured in a road mishap in West Bengal's Jalpaiguri district today.

The mishap occurred when a potato laden truck collided head on with a trekker at Rangalibana under Madarihat block near Alipurdua, police said.

While seven died on the spot, one succumbed to his injury in the hospital.

Five others injured passengers were undergoing treatment, sources said.

The victims were travelling in the trekker.
