Elderly man accused of sorcery stabbed to death

A 65-year-old man, who was suspected to indulge in sorcery was stabbed to death in Kacharam village in the district.

V Narsaiah was stabbed by Ch Naresh (28) in the fields yesterday on the suspicion that the former was doing sorcery, Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) G Ravi of Medipalli police station said.

The victim's family members filed a complaint with the police following which a case was registered under section 302 (punishment for murder) of the IPC, he said.

Efforts are on to nab the absconding accused, he added.
