Engineer, 4 others held for stealing transformer in UP

Five persons, including a junior engineer in power department, were arrested for allegedly stealing a transformer installed in Salempur village here, police said today.

The locals last night apprehended the persons, including Junion Engineer Surya Prakash, while they were loading the transformer in a vehicle and locked them up in a room, they said.

On receiving information, police reached the spot and arrested the accused, they said.

A case has been registered against the five accused in this connection, they added.
