An engineering student allegedly committed suicide by jumping before a moving train here, after scoring poor marks in a recent examination, police said today.
The incident came to light this morning when some walkers noticed the body parts of the victim lying on a railway track in Avaramalayam and informed the police.
The 21-year-old student of a private college here, was dejected for the last few days over the low marks scored in a few subjects, police said.
A case has been registered and investigation is on, they said.
