Fake currency making unit busted

The police today busted a fake currency making unit in the town and arrested four persons, including two women, allegedly involved in the racket.

The manufacturing items like the printer, ink bottles, A-4 size bond papers, paper cutter, zink-ball pen, seal emblemed with head of Mahatma Gandhi, wood thinner, glass plate and some other items were seized from the accused persons during the raids form their houses in different places, SP (Berhampur) Sarthak Sarangi said.

"As per the version of the arrested, they were involved in the practice since the last three months and produced at least Rs two lakh fake currency notes," SP said.
 

"We have seized around Rs 1.86 lakh fake notes during the raids" he said.

In the last month, police had arrested three persons with three fake currency notes from Golanthara, about 20-km from here. "We are also investigation their link with some other places like Paralakhemundi and Rayagada" the SP said.
