Farmers to receive paddy seeds to make up for crop loss

This would cost the state government Rs 1.32 crore, Agriculture department sources said today.

Crops like paddy, maize, jute and vegetables were severely damaged in Jalpaiguri, North Dinajpur, Cooch Behar, Malda, Howrah, South 24-Parganas, North 24-Parganas, Burdwan and Bankura amounting to Rs 162 crore, the sources added.
