A teenaged girl was allegedly attacked by her father with a kitchen knife who was angry with her for returning home late in Palam area of south west Delhi, police said today.
The 18-year-old girl, who sustained minor injuries in the attack, lodged a complaint with police, saying she had gone to meet her aunt and returned to her home in Raj Nagar in Palam area late at night, when her father lost his cool and scolded her, they said.
She alleged her father picked up a kitchen knife and attacked her, causing injuries on back and neck.
"A case under Sections 323 (volunatarily causing hurt), 341 (wrongful restraint), and 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC has been registered against the accused Bhawani Shankar," said DCP(south west) Surender Kumar.
