Films from Romania, Algeria to be screened at Jagran Film Fest

The seventh edition of Jagran Film Festival in Mumbai will showcase award-winning films from across the globe like Algerian film "Road to Istanbul" and "Sieranevada" from Romania.

The festival, which began in New Delhi on July 1, travelled to several cities including Lucknow and Kanpur. It will culminate in Mumbai in October, a press release issued here said.

Ten films from various parts of the world will be screened for world cinema enthusiasts between September 26 to October 2, 2016.

The 10 films include - Algerian film "Road to Istanbul" by Rachid Bouchareb, internationally acclaimed Romanian movie "Sieranevada" by Critsi Puiu, "The First, The Last" by Bouli Lanners, "Mahana", a thriller from Chile "The Plants", "Hear the Silence" by Ed Ehrenberg from Germany.
 

"Chato, the King of Brazli" by Guilherme Fontes, "Al Massira, The Green March" from Morocco by Youssef Britel, "Madagascar" the Cuban classic by Fernando Perez Valdes, "Dana Dana" (Pearl Pearl), a film from war-torn Iraq and "World Cup" from Syria directed by Twin brothers called Malas.

"It is a golden opportunity for all those who like watching world cinema, since it's a beautiful amalgamation of celebrated films of different genres and cultures," Jagran spokesperson said.

Some of the important sections of the festival are World Panorama, Indian showcase, Jagran Shorts, Stars on the horizon, Country Focus, Tributes, Homages and many others.
