First unit shut down for undertaking repair works

The first unit of the Tuticorin Power Plant was today shut down for taking up repair works, officials said.
They said the boiler of the 210-MW unit got punctured this morning.
Work on plugging the hole would be taken up on a war-footing and the boiler would be repaired today or tomorrow, officials said.
