Four minor sisters die after consuming contaminated food

Four minor sisters have died after consuming contaminated food in a village under Asarpur police station area in Munger district.

The incident took place last night in Masudanpur village as four daughters of one Sanjay Tanti consumed contaminated food before going to sleep, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Raghuvansh Prasad Singh said.

The girls felt sick and died while being taken to hospital for treatment, he said.

The food that the four sisters consumed was cooked earlier in the day, Singh said.

The victims have been identified as Champa Kumari (12), Swati Kumari (10), Suman Kumari (8) and Kalpani Kumari (6), he said, adding, the bodies have been sent for post-mortem.
 

The matter is being investigated, the police officer said.
