Gangolli leads at National 'A' Chess Championship for Blind

Defending champion Kishan Gangolli is leading with 4.5 points after the fifth round of the National 'A' Chess Championship for the Visually Challenged being held here.

The 26-year-old from Karnataka has been winning the championship for the last four years and is aiming for his fifth straight title, a media release said today.

Chess coach Ashvin Makawana from Vadodara has jumped to the 2nd place with 4.0 points after defeating Yudhajeet De in the fifth round.

Aryan Joshi from Maharashtra moved down to the 5th place after losing to Patra Subhendu Kumar of Odisha. Pradhan Brothers Prachurya, with 4.0 points, and Soundarya, with 3.5 points, maintained their 3rd and 4th position, respectively.
 

The 13th edition of the tournament is organised by the All India Chess Federation for the Blind (AICFB).
