Gelatin sticks, detonators seized in AP; businessman held

Police today seized a large quantity of gelatin sticks and detonators from a businessman who was allegedly into illegal trade of these explosives, an official said.

Eight boxes, each stocked with 25kg of gelatin sticks, and one box containing more than 2,000 detonators were seized in Bobbili town from the premises of G Srinivas, the businessman who has been arrested, they said.

According to Sub-Inspector S Naidu of Bobbili Police station, Srinivas was doing illegal business of gelatin sticks and detonators.

He has been arrested and booked under Explosive Substances Act, police said.
