Guar gum prices slumped by 3.6 per cent to Rs 8,409 per quintal in futures trade today following offloading of positions by operators amid a weak trend at the physical market due to tepid export demand.
Marketmen attributed a steep fall in guar gum prices to offloading of bets by participants, tracking a weak trend at the spot markets due to fall in export demand.
At the National Derivatives and Commodity Exchange, guar gum delivery for delivery in May contracts fell by Rs 314, or 3.60 per cent, to Rs 8,409 per quintal with an open interest of 38,445 lots.
Guar gum for delivery in far-month June also dropped by Rs 264, or 2.99 per cent, to Rs 8,557 per quintal with an open interest of 25,195 lots.
