Gujarat government today transferred 24 IPS officers and promoted some of them.
The transfers come ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, as it is mandatory to transfer those who have completed three years on the post.
Deputy Director General of Raksha Shakti University, Vikas Sahay, was transferred to the post of Joint Commissioner of Police (Special Branch) of Ahmedabad city relieving Dr Samsher Singh of the additional charge. He has been asked to hold the additional charge of Deputy Director General, of Raksha Shakti University, an official press release said.

Inspector General of Police (IGP), State Crime Record Bureau Gandhinagar Manoj Agarwal has also been transferred to the post of Joint Commissioner of Police (Headquarters).
IGP Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL), Vadodara V J Gautam, has been transferred to the post of Inspector General of Police Railways in place of R J Savani.
ADGP and Director of State Police Academy, Karia Vipul Vijoy was transferred, as the ADGP (Technical Service) Gandhinagar, it said.
Joint Commissioner of Police (Administration) Ahmedabad city was transferred to CID (Crime) Gandhiangar.
The state government has also transferred and promoted five junior IPS officers from the 2010 batch to various district posts.
