Gur Chakku prices rose by Rs 50 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following paucity of stocks amid speculative buying by stockists and retailers.
Furthermore, strong demand from beer and cattle-feed makers attributed spurt in gur chakku prices.
Elsewhere, other gur varieties ruled flat following adequate stocks position in Delhi, Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar.

Marketmen said the rise in gur chakku to tight supplies from manufacturing belts because of bad weather conditions and rising demand.
In Delhi, gur Chakku prices climbed by Rs 50 to settle at Rs 2,800-2,900 per quintal.
Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):
Gur chakku Rs 2,800-2,900, pedi Rs 3,000-3,100, dhayya Rs 3,100-3,200 and shakkar Rs 3,100-3,200.
Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,400-2,450, chakku Rs 2,500-2,750, khurpa Rs 2,450-2,500 and Ladoo Rs 2,650-2,800.
Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,600-2,650 and dhayya Rs 2,650-2,700.
