Haryana Agriculture minister meets Vietnam delegation

Exploring areas of cooperation and investment with Vietnam, Haryana Agriculture Minister Om Parkash Dhankar today met a Vietnamese delegation led by its Vice Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development Vu Van Tam here today.

The state Fisheries department proposed to set up an Indo-Vietnam Centre of excellence for Shrimp culture in saline water in Haryana which is one of Vietnam's expertise.

Dhankar said this is the initial phase of relationship with Vietnam which would be followed by exchange of projects between Haryana and Vietnam that would prove beneficial for both.

He said Haryana has invited the Vietnam delegation and a similar delegation from the state would visit their country to explore more projects through which both regions could collaborate and prosper.
 

During the meeting, Dhankar apprised the delegation about Haryana being an agro based state and the expertise of both benefit both.

Different departments of the state like Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry and Rural Development made brief presentations on their concerned fields of excellence.

Ambassador of Socialist Republic of Vietnam Ton Sinh Thanh and Deputy Director General of International Cooperation Department, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development Viet Chau were also part of the Vietnam delegation.
