Haryana-based businessman robbed in suburban Andheri

A 52-year-old Haryana-based businessman was allegedly robbed of cash and valuables valued at Rs 2.5 lakh by two men and a woman, who spiked his drinks at a pub in suburban Andheri on Friday night, police said today.

The victim Rajesh Bhatia lost his consciousness on Friday night and woke up on Sunday morning, on a roadside in Andheri, after which he approached the police, they said.

The Amboli police registered an FIR and are looking for the trio.

According to the police, Bhatia who often travels to Mumbai for business purposes, arrived here on April 28 and checked in a hotel in suburban Andheri. To spend his leisure time, he went to a posh pub in suburban Andheri West on Friday night.
 

Bhatia told PTI that he met a group of young people in the pub who became friendly with him and offered him drinks. After a while, the trio took him to a roadside stall where he lost his consciousness after having the drink.

The police said the trio then escaped with his valuables, his two cell phones and Rs 60,000 in cash collectively valued at Rs 2.5 lakh.
