Haryana govt prepares scheme for Anganwadis

With a view to make Anganwadi centres more attractive, accessible to children, Haryana government today said it has prepared a scheme under which more facilities would be provided.

The government has prepared 'Hamari Phulwari Yojana' under 'Anganwadi Sehyog Karyakram' under which toys, utensils, gas connections, chairs and tables for children have been made available in Anganwadi Centres, an official release said here.

The release quoting State's Women and Child Development Minister Kavita Jain said that if there is any involvement of Panchayats, Municipal Councils, Corporate sector, non-governmental organizations and communities then more facilities could be provided in Anganwadi Centres.

She said that under the scheme, Panchayats, municipal councils, dignitaries, corporate sector, non-governmental organizations and communities could help in providing basic facilities, equipments related to health and education, capacity building and training programme and nutrition programme, and supporting the functioning of the centres.
 

The Minister said that if the amount of aid is more than Rs one lakh for an Anganwadi Centre then their name would be mentioned on the board of the Centre and a letter of appreciation would be given by the Women and Child Development Officer concerned.
